KAIRE ADVANCED 369 EFA COMPLEX™

Essential fatty acids are one of the most critical links in our health chain. Termed 'essential' because they are not produced by the body and must be present in the diet to sustain health. They maintain the integrity of cell walls and membranes, generate energy, produce hormones and help with normal brain, nerve and eye function making them vital for total body health, both inside and out.

As mounting research suggests getting the right amount of essential fatty acids is as important as getting your daily vitamins. Therefore just as you need the right combination of vitamins and minerals on a daily basis, your body also requires the right balance of EFAs for proper metabolic functions. In fact, each EFA plays a distinct and valuable role in the optimal functioning of the entire body:

• alpha linolenic acid (ALA), a polyunsaturated fatty acid with 18 carbon atoms; it’s the only omega 3 fatty acid found in vegetable products. The body can convert this to EPA and DHA but it takes about ten grams of alpha linolenic acid to yield one gram of EPA and DHA.

gamma linolenic acid (GLA), chemically known as an omega-6 fatty acid. Ordinarily, the body produces plentiful GLA from a compound called linoleic acid, an "essential" fatty acid, which is readily obtained from dietary sources. However, with a poor diet, advancing age, or illness, it's often beneficial to get extra GLA in supplement form to make up for possible linoleic acid deficits.

• eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Essential fatty acids of the omega-3 family prevalent in fish and fish oils. EPA is a polyunsaturated fatty acid that acts as a precursor for prostaglandin-3 and thromboxane-3 groups. DHA is a major component of the human brain tissues and the retinal tissues of the eyes; some DHA is converted to EPA in the body.

While there are food choices that can help you get the balance of EFAs you need everyday, this can at times be inconvenient and difficult for a hectic, on-the-go lifestyle. Busy people have the tendency to eat a lot of packaged foods, convenience foods, and/or fast foods, all of which are deficient in essential fats and typically contain higher amounts of saturated and trans fats. And there are simply some of us that are not flax or fish lovers, so getting all of your EFAs from food may not be as easy as it sounds. A multi-EFA supplement such as Kaire Advanced 3•6•9 EFA Complex is a great way to get a balance of your omega 3, 6, & 9’s. Kaire has developed a new EFA supplement that contains nutritious blend of essential fatty acids from the following nutritional oils:

• Flaxseed: with its high content of Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA)

• Borage seed: The oil of its seed contains ~20-23% Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) , providing the richest natural source of this fatty acid…even higher than Black Currant seed and Evening Primrose oil.

• Fish Oil: 50% Omega-3 content that includes a balance of EPA & DHA.
